The underground galleries of Cricova Winery were overrun by hundreds of runners who took part in Cricova Wine Run 2018. Along the 10-km route, which ran both at a depth of 100 meters and outside the dungeon, amateur and professional sportsmen were met by folk ensembles, national craftsmen and „Masă Mare” – a large table, where sportsmen could taste some of the Moldovan cuisine and drink a cup of mulled wine. The social sport organization Sporter decided to combine both sports and wine cultures, and to present the traditions and national peculiarities during the event. The distance was conquered by 300 runners from Moldova and other countries.
The fastest among men were:
- 1. Liviu Croitoru – 0:35:29.5
- 2. Clayton Strycker – 0:39:28.4
- 3. Vrabii Andrei – 0:40:00.6
The first women to cross the finish line were:
- 1. Sacara Zinaida – 0:43:19.7
- 2. Svetlana Sepeliova – 0:43:36.8
- 3. Mihaela Botnari – 0:44:03.4
